Rating- 4 1/2 stars.

The reason i picked this album is because i really liked their group until they split up.Ive heard just about every one of their songs and they are really good because some actually have meanings and some are just plain simple were in they have no meanings. But some talk about things in life today.
For example Bills Bills Bills it explains how people are struggling to pay for their bills and what they have to do to pay them track3.

Required Listening

One of the artist that i was intersted in was Aretha Franklin (Respect) not because Ive heard it before but this time it really stuck out to me. It seemed like every time I had heard it it was just a song but it actually had a meaning. About what people had gone through and all they wanted was RESPECT. I thought to my self who could sing it better.

Another one that sruck me was Bill Haley & His Comets,"Rock Around the Clock" (1954) I have never heard this song and as i was listening i thought to myself this is going to be the weirdest song but as i was listening it just kept making want to stand up on my feet and just have fun. This was a song that i wouldnt listen to but now i know it doesnt hurt to listen to something new.

The last on is The Alman Brothers Band, Whipping Post. It stood out to me because in the beginng it had a bit of soul and blues and i like a little rythm and thats how i like my music. This is a kind of song that brings me to the olden days where you listen when when playing cards in your backyard or with friends.

I really liked this assignment i got to listen to songs i thought i would nrver listen to. But i think that this was a good idea to show other people theres other things to listen to than regular music.

Blog Response #2

Section A

So far i like this book for certain reasons because there are some intersting parts and there are not so when i read i think of it as its boring and kind of blank out. Well in the beginning of the book i thought that it was really slow. One of the parts i thought stood out was when the boat sank and and their seem to be only richard parker and pi on the boat and i said okay but when a zebra and a hyena appeared it got kind of weird.
Some themes that occur in this book are:

Moral and Religious Beliefs
Courage
Animal Knowledge

I think that these are some of the things that pi grows in as the book goes on and i think its going to help them as they get rescued or wash upon a island.

Section B asking questions

1.) How does Richard Parker act when Pi is training him?/or does he actually train him?
2.)What does religion and the swimming lessons have to do with Pi and the lifeboat?
3.)Pi considers himself a to Christianity, Islam and Hinduism? Is it possible to practice all three faiths faithfully? What is Pi's reasoning in not choosing one?
4.)Pi believes that animals in a zoo are no worse off than animals in the wild. Do you agree with him?

Section C

The quote that i thought was the best so far is the when he was considering to kill richard parker which he actually didnt. "I had a plan and it was a good one. I only needed to survive to put it into effect." (Page 200)

This was interesting to me because it stood out and i think why he didnt kill him is because of his religious beliefs and how he believes in many things and killing wasnt one of them. i thought it had a message behind it which was its a part of survival so you are kind of being forced to survive.

Literature Circle Part 1

1. Predicting I predict in the end that they are going to wash up on the shore and they are going to see someone. I think that that since the boy is in the boat with the tiger that the boy for some reason is going to stay very calm just because its a tiger.

2. PicturingI picture What i am visualizing is going to happen is another animal who is magically going to arrive in the boat with him because of when the boat sank how could only one animal be in the boat. But them as i read there was apparently a zebra and a monkey.

3. Making ConnectionsThis is reminds me of a book that or a movie that i cant remember when stuff just appears and disappears and it kind of related to the book when they found the zebra in the boat. And i think that there was another strange animal that was in the boat to.

4. Identifying a problem I got confused when the author said that there was another animal who appeared in the boat actually which was a zebra. And it kind of threw me off because it had said that only the tiger was on there and then all of a sudden the zebra and a monkey appears.

5. Identifying a solution as i looked on the cover i saw and knew that it was him and a tiger but what i did not know was that there was a zebra too because it doesnt look like a zebra is on there by the picture on the cover so it was knid of interesting and made the book more interesting because its not on the title.

BTB: BEYOND THE BORDER

So as you know their are wild fires all over so our mexico trip is cancelled till further notice. But it is etter to be safe than to be out their in danger.

Some of the info i found just because is Today, the U.S.-Mexico border covers 2,000 miles, encompassing four U.S. and six Mexican states. But the area has changed quite a bit over the years. In the pre-Columbian era, the land was inhabited by Native Americans who did not draw border lines. Find out how the area changed through the colonization of the Americas, the discovery of gold, wars, immigration, NAFTA and other historical events.
